Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been a photographer?
I’ve always had an interest in photography. I guess it just runs in my blood — my dad has a sweet spot for photography too and let me play with his film SLR cameras when I was growing up. I got my first digital point-and-shoot camera in high school, and have been the guy with the camera ever since. I got my first “real” camera years ago and immediately saw the difference in picture quality, and tried to learn all I could about it. Even at that point though it was just something I enjoyed doing on the side. I also have a passion for travel, and I realized that I’m at my happiest when I’m looking through and editing the photos from a trip. That feeling, in addition to my own wedding in 2010, is what pushed me to pursue wedding photography professionally.
Why did you get into wedding and portrait photography?
I came to the realization that just taking a ton of pictures once or twice a year while I traveled wasn’t going to be enough to satisfy that nagging desire. I had recently gotten married myself and I’d have to say that was the real turning point for wanting to pursue wedding and portrait photography. I had such a great time that day, and being able to photograph weddings lets me relive it a little bit. My wife and I adore our own wedding photos and constantly look through them, and I like being able to provide that same experience for other couples.
How would you describe your style of photography?
Modern, timeless, glamorous, and natural. Our photos are sharp and vivid and colorful, and will look just as great 20 years from now as they do today. We don’t try and copy current photography fads and apply Instagram-like filters to our images. We believe amazing photographs are made with experience, beautiful light, and flattering posing. We will make you look incredible and tell the story of your day, all while providing a fun and laid-back experience.
What’s your favorite part of a wedding day to photograph?
We have the most passion for epic and beautiful bride and groom portraits. We really enjoy capturing the love between a couple and we’re constantly challenging ourselves to be innovative and create stunning and unique images.
Do you have backup equipment?
Of course!
Do you have insurance?
Yep, equipment and liability. I’m also I’m a member of PPA (Professional Photographers of America), and through them I’m covered within their Indemnification Trust, which covers situations such as digital image loss, missing images, client dissatisfaction, etc. Got it all covered!
Do you mind if other people take pictures at the wedding?
Not at all! We only ask that we’re the only professional photographers there.
How long will it take to get our photos?
The retouching process usually takes 2-4 weeks depending on the number of photos and type of event.
Will our final images be watermarked?
You receive a complete set of full-resolution, non-watermarked images in both color and black & white. I also provide a complete set of "web ready" photos that are optimized and ready for Facebook, Instagram, etc. Those are watermarked.
Will we have rights to our photos?
Absolutely. You receive reprint rights along with the digital photos so you print them to your heart’s content.
Do you book more than one wedding per day?
Never ever. Only one couple should have my complete attention that day.
