Oh man, I get sooo excited to share some weddings, and Alexis & Jaron’s wedding is deeeeeffinitely one of them! Gorgeous details, a killer venue, great weather, and a beautiful couple made this one of my favorites! Alexis & Jaron both started the day getting ready at J. Verno Studios. After their first look we headed to the Mellon Institute for a few more portraits, then back to J. Verno for their Ketubah signing, ceremony, and reception. Here’s their story:
We met while moving into our college dorm at Point Park University. Our rooms were on the same floor, so during that first week before classes started we became friendly. We were also both in the theater department and had a lot in common, which lead to us becoming fast friends. Our sophomore year we decided to become roommates (with two other friends at the time) and have lived together ever since. We started dating the summer going into our Senior year, so we had three years of solid friendship as our foundation- highly recommend. It also gave us a lot of good hashtag material #bestfrandsforever or #friendstofrands.
Jaron proposed in July 2017 on a park bench near our apartment in New York City. It was a perfect spot on the water that overlooked the city skyline and I love that we’ll always have the memory of getting engaged in our neighborhood and what’s been our home for the past six years. Unbeknownst to me, Jaron also had a weekend in Pittsburgh planned to celebrate with family, and we caught a flight the next morning. One very special detail was that we actually designed my engagement ring together. It was amazing to go from having the vision in my head and on paper to then seeing it come to life.
My inspiration for the wedding was clean lines, minimalistic and timeless. I wanted the details of our wedding to be something we would love forever and tried to stay away from the trends. I’m a strong believer in “less is more” so it wasn’t hard to bring that aspect of our aesthetic into our wedding. I did however use the design of our wedding cakes (there were three) as an outlet to do something more unique and show off more personality.
We are truly making the day our own, mixing in Jewish wedding traditions which will always mean so much to us, food and music we love and of course most of all our family and friends who will make the night a true celebration!
I know this one is an overshare but I couldn’t help it, there are just too many photos I love! Here are just a few from Alexis & Jaron’s amazing J. Verno Studios wedding!
