Oh man am I excited to share this wedding! I was looking forward to this one since I first spoke with Valerie earlier this year. I mean…St. Paul’s Cathedral, The Pennsylvanian, a beautiful couple, amazing vendors, amazing food. How could this wedding be anything less than spectacular? Valerie and Matt are such a wonderful couple too that I didn’t expect to be SO easygoing and down to earth; they were one of the least-stressed couples I’ve ever worked with and put full trust into their vendors. Here’s their story…
Valerie and Matt met the summer going into 8th grade at Saint Sebastian Festival. Valerie asked Matt for a quarter because she lost her money playing the money wheel. He didn’t have a quarter, but they rode the ferris wheel :) The two started dating in 9th grade and both went on to the University of Pittsburgh together! In early 2015 Matt proposed. Earlier that week, he treated Valerie to a day of shopping and a manicure, to make sure her nails were perfect for the upcoming bling. Then he took her shopping at her favorite store and bought her a red lace dress and high heels. Later that evening, Matt picked up Valerie for dinner and made a “quick stop” at St. Sebastian’s Parish — where they first met at ages 12 and 13. Once at the church, Matt took Valerie to an area romantically adorned with red roses & petals (Valerie’s favorite!), candles, and statues. Right there, he got down on one knee and proposed! Afterwards they went to dinner at Station Square, where they had their first official date in 9th grade and celebrated with their favorite wine and champagne!
