I’ve been looking forward to Annie & Jeff’s wedding ever since their Washington’s Landing and Strip District engagement session last year. I started the day at Annie’s parent’s house, which has such a beautiful backyard and garden. I’m a sucker for detail shots outside. We headed to Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church for their ceremony, then to The Pennsylvanian for the reception. Here is Annie & Jeff’s story…
We actually used to work together. We had both since left that firm and subsequently bumped into each other at our separate firms’ tax season parties in April 2015. It was fate, in a nerdy tax sort of way! Shortly thereafter, we grabbed lunch together and the rest is history! A longer version of this story is so wonderfully described in our guest book.
We got engaged on Annie’s family vacation in Canada August 1, 2016. Jeff insisted on going out to eat, even though that is a rarity on those trips, and when we couldn’t get a reservation, he was insistent we still have a date night. We sat on the dock and drank a bottle of wine called “Frisky Beaver” and just talked. From there, he asked me (onto land so he wouldn’t drop the ring) and got down on a knee and proposed. Good thing I said yes or he would’ve had to figure out how to get back to Pittsburgh from Canada (without a car)!
We LOVE The Pennsylvanian. Once we picked the venue, it just felt right to go for with a traditional classy theme. And a train theme! Honestly, we backed into the color navy with the color options of the bridesmaids dresses, but it worked out so well! I can’t imagine doing any other color.
This wedding is the celebration of us!!! We are so happy with all of the vendors we selected, the ambiance of The Pennsylvanian, and the fact that all of our loved ones will be together.
